MA Child Care - Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)

The new Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) combines the functions of the Office of Child Care Services (OCCS) with those of the Early Learning Services Division at the Department of Education, effective July 1, 2005.

The new department brings together the people, services, and resources of the two former agencies, as it builds a new, coordinated, comprehensive system of early education and care in Massachusetts. Until the agency can secure a new, consolidated location, it will maintain two central offices, in Malden and downtown Boston. It also has five regional offices across the state to administer child care and coordinate the various child care programs.
